Cost wise, for people living in the Middle East like me, it’s quiet the same amount of money you will pay to go anywhere in Europe. The ticket is cheap if you take Fly Dubai, then it all depends on the kind of hotel you will choose, there are some extremely luxurious resorts and the three stars ones. But at the end, they are all located on islands, and no matter which one you go for, you will still enjoy the amazing beach of the Indian Ocean, then the difference will be in the hotel facilities: the room space, the food, the spa, the entertainment program etc.
If you are not really into beaches and swimming, Istanbul is a perfect alternative for your wounded heart. More than any other place, Istanbul has an astonishing spirituality that will hit you no matter what your beliefs are. Join the ecstatic trance of the whirling Dervishs in their quest to connect with the divine through dance, music and poems. Get mystified by the love they spread on earth, while burying their ego and expanding their heart. Even if you are an atheist, their performance will definitely bless you with enlightenment.
I think that Istanbul is a real cradle of civilizations and religions. The city’s architecture and monuments testify of its historical role as a bridge between the Western and Eastern civilizations, with Istanbul itself being divided over two different continents, Europe and Asia. It’s worth visiting Hagia Sophia, a Greek Orthodox patriarchal basilica, later transformed into a mosque, and now a museum. The beautifully designed Blue Mosque which incorporates some Byzantine Christian elements with traditional Islamic architecture.
Beside discovering the spiritual aspect of Istanbul, there are plenty of activities you can do there. Check out this article for more tips.
Zagreb is one of the most charming and vibrant cities of Eastern Europe. One of the very good reasons why you should immediately carry your bleeding heart and go there is because Zagreb is the medicine, Zagreb is the relief, Zagreb is where you will finally liberate yourself and finally say: “Thanks God, am not all” !
Welcome to the Museum of the Broken Relationships, one of the funniest, weirdest and interesting museums I’ve even been to. The Museum offers a chance to overcome an emotional collapse through creation: by contributing to the Museum's collection. Hundreds of stories and objects from all over the world are donated and exhibited at the Museum. The axe of German broken hearted who used it to smash her ex furniture. The too small ex-underpants by a heartbroken Croatian lady who, despite the size, committed to her ex. A Molecular Animal of a heartbroken Slovenian guy who can’t even remember who gave it to him. Some stories are better than yours, other are worse, but the only thing I can assure you, is that the heartache will suddenly become a stomach ache coz you will not be able to stop laughing.
Don’t forget, before you head to Zagreb, bring that useless tie, those old earrings, this miserable teddy bear or this crappy mug that she got you, donate to the museum and share your hilarious story with the World :D
