"The Maldives are for honeymooners, you need a fortune to get there, plan a year in advance and at least allow 10 to 14 weeks to be able to enjoy" ... Well, that's totally not true, and I don't know why we all have these stereotypes about this country that we never think about visiting, not knowing what we are truly missing!
So here you go! I went to the Maldives with my childhood best friend, and the resort where we stayed was full of groups, friends, couples of course but also families. We stayed only for 4 nights due to work committment. To be precise, we arrived very late at night, 12 am, so we only got to enjoy 3 full days. We decided to travel only on the 20th of June, made the bookings and were on the plan on the 25th of June. And guess what! It cost me almost the same amount of money that I would spend for the same number of days in Paris or Stockholm, but with a much more luxurious stay. But, I have to admit that this is not by any mean a destination for solo travelers. Traveling in two or in group will definitely cut a lot of your expenses.
Excited? .. Before I share with you some photos of what you are missing if you don't visit the Maldives once in your life, check my five essential tips to prepare for your trip.
